The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lowery of Laurel. The groom is the son of George Miller and the late Elizabeth Miller of Washington, Iowa.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore her mother’s vintage wedding gown of silk organza from 1969. The gown featured a lifted bodice of re-embroidered Chantilly lace and Dior lace sleeves. The A-line skirt and cathedral-length train were enhanced with Chantilly lace and pearl embroidered trellising. Her cathedral-length veil of silk illusion drifted from a French cap of silk organza and pearls. A chocolate brown silk ribbon was added to the empire waist that met in the back of the dress and finished with an antique brooch. She carried a bouquet of long-stemmed calla lilies that were tied together with a turquoise ribbon of dupioni silk.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Brittany Lowery. Bridesmaids were Christine Beleckis of Atlanta, Georgia; Leslie Campbell of Woodstock, Georgia; Julia Frost of Charleston, South Carolina; and Becky Wells of San Antonio, Texas. Attendants wore tea-length gowns of chocolate brown chiffon and satin featuring pintucks from the waist to the hem. They carried bouquets of long-stemmed calla lilies that were hand-tied with teal dupioni silk.
The groom’s brother, Zac Miller of North Liberty, Iowa, served as best man. Groomsmen were Aaron Schulz of Parnell, Iowa, and Matt Silva of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Of special notice and sentiment were two candles on the groom’s side in memory of the bride’s brother, Devan Lowery, and the groom’s friend Seth Bailey. Ushers were Levi Gingerich of Lafayette, Indiana, and Jeremy Miller, brother of the groom, of Harpster, Ohio.
The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Russell Louden of St. Louis, Missouri, and Dr. Tate Cockrell of Madison. Music was presented by Ray Smithee, organist, and Richard Green, vocal soloist. Greeter and registry attendant was Mandi Alexander of Laurel.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Alluvian Hotel in downtown Greenwood. Guests danced to the music of The Ben Shaw Band.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s father honored the couple with a rehearsal dinner at the Alluvian Hotel, followed by a wine tasting hosted by the bride’s parents.
Following a honeymoon to Placencia and San Pedro, Belize, the couple is at home in Big Sky, Montana, where the groom is a mortgage broker with Flatrock Financial and the bride is an interior designer with Carole Sisson Designs.
